RED CLAY AND RHYTHM
Where gospel meets blues, a family’s journey sparks a city’s sound.
Red Clay and Rhythm follows the Hibbler family—George, Willie Mae, and their four gifted sons—as they trade the red clay roads of South Carolina for the bright, uncertain promise of Chicago. Rooted in gospel tradition but driven by musical ambition, the brothers—Tony, Greg, James (“Lil Jam”), and Curtis (“CT”)—blend church hymns into a new, electrifying sound. Their talent brings admiration… and criticism.
In Sumter, their music disrupts tradition. In Chicago, it threatens the status quo.
Drawn into the underground world of juke joints and smoky lounges, CT captivates crowds with his voice and stage presence while Greg composes the melodies that define their sound. But fame comes at a price. Rivalries ignite. Temptations rise. A powerful club owner manipulates their opportunities, pushing CT toward decisions that fracture the family’s unity.
